About Within You Now

Within You Now exists for people who want something simple, steady, and real.
A way to calm the body and mind, ask the questions that matter, and move forward with greater clarity — without pressure, hype, or needing years of experience.
A little about me
I grew up in the Midwest of the United States, where responsibility was expected and discipline was learned early. Those values shaped how I approach life, work, and personal growth.
As a teenager, I became a competitive bodybuilder in the NPC Natural Physique category — no drugs, no steroids. That experience instilled a belief I still live by today: real strength is built patiently, cleanly, and from the inside out. Consistency, restraint, and respect for the body matter more than shortcuts.
That mindset carried into aviation. I served as a U.S. military pilot and later flew internationally as an airline pilot. In the cockpit, calm is not a personality trait — it’s a requirement. When systems fail and conditions deteriorate, your ability to regulate yourself determines the outcome.
Outside of aviation, I’m married and a devoted family man. Family has reinforced what discipline and presence truly mean — not just in high-pressure environments, but in everyday life.
I’m also an advocate of a healthy lifestyle and a lifelong student of functional medicine. I believe health, clarity, and resilience are built through informed choices, movement, nutrition, recovery, and an understanding of how the body and mind work together. My focus is not extremes, but sustainable habits that support long-term performance and well-being.
Everything I teach and share comes back to the same principle: strength, clarity, and control are developed — not forced — through daily practice and personal responsibility.
A night over the Pacific I’ll never forget
It was a clear night over the Pacific Ocean, somewhere between Japan and Alaska.
- Below us: nothing but black water.
- Above us: stars.
- Around us: silence.
- Then, without warning, the autopilot dropped offline.
- Moments later, we realized we had lost navigation as well.
- Every available destination ahead of us was reporting bad weather.
- There was no panic — but there was no margin for error either.
- The first priority was immediate and absolute: maintain control of the aircraft.
- Hands steady. Breathing controlled. No rushing.
Once the aircraft was stable, we slowed the moment down and began working the problem. I brought another qualified pilot into the cockpit — an extra set of eyes and ears. We notified air traffic control and requested a block altitude. We informed nearby
aircraft that we were operating as an emergency flight.
- Checklists were run. Procedures followed. One step at a time.
- At the same time, I began forming a contingency plan.
From my military flying days, I remembered formation flying — holding precise position relative to another aircraft, visually, over long distances. If we could not restore our systems, I was prepared to coordinate with another jet and fly visual formation all the way to Anchorage, Alaska.
- That would have meant hours of intense focus and discipline over open ocean.
- Fortunately, after careful troubleshooting, the faulty systems came back online. Navigation returned. The autopilot re-engaged.
- The aircraft settled back into its steady rhythm.
- What could have become a long, exhausting, and high-risk night resolved safely.
- But the lesson never left me.
-
In moments like that, panic closes options.
Calm creates them.
What that night taught me about inner calm
- That experience reinforced something I had already learned through decades of inner work.
- When the body is tense and the mind is flooded with stress, perception narrows. Choices disappear. You react instead of respond.
- When the body relaxes and the mind settles, clarity returns.
- Over more than forty years, I’ve practiced meditation, visualization, and manifestation — not as abstract ideas, but as practical tools for real life. Over time, I became a meditation coach and a Reiki Master, and I’ve watched the same principle play out again and again:
- Calm widens awareness.
- Calm reveals options.
- Calm allows solutions to emerge.

What I believe
- Calm comes first
- You don’t need to do this perfectly
- You’re always in control of your experience
- Small, consistent practice creates lasting change
- Healthy living supports a clear mind and a steady body
This work isn’t about forcing outcomes. It’s about creating the conditions where better outcomes can arise naturally.
If you’re new, the best place to begin is with a simple guided meditation.
Simple. Calm. No pressure. Nothing to figure out.
Looking Ahead
As Within You Now continues to grow, more ways to practice and explore will become available.
Some people prefer to begin quietly, on their own, with simple guided meditations can return to whenever they need calm, rest, or clarity
Others may feel drawn, over time, to go a little deeper through:
- Self-paced training videos that explore meditation, calm awareness, and manifestation in more detail
- Optional live online sessions, where we practice together and gently explore questions as they arise
- Occasional in-person retreats, held in a peaceful tropical island setting I call home, created for rest, reflection, and renewal
- There’s no schedule to follow and no right way to move through this work.
- You’re welcome to begin where you are, stay as long as you like, and explore more only when it feels natural.
- Everything here is designed to meet you where you are — and to unfold with you over time.
